She's baaaaack!!!

Today is my birthday, and what better present could a guy ask for than to have his own U.S, Senator back in the race for the White House?

Note to Woody and Wilton: It is time to build the North Carolina fire break.

Well happy birthday big dog. The air keeps getting rarified each year...

I know the post was on HC but I am weary of the struggle in the election process. This business is a bit like Bismarck's remark on making sausage.

One of the things which startled me yesterday was the sticker shock of 14 gallons of diesel fuel at the pump: $71! It is almost $5 per gallon. What rang in my head are the failed energy policy, the profits which will go to our enemies and the coming inflation. The times they are a changin. The electorate will want change. This election might go to the Democrats by default as JM gets tarred with the same brush as GWB.

To DMJ - As a capital defense atty in NC that went to law school with my wife said, "I can get my guy off if you can answer yes to 2 questions. 1. Did he/she need killing. 2. Was my guy the one to do it. So much for the legal niceties.

I agree with Hank. The US seems to have an uncanny ability to fund both sides of the wars we self declare. We certainly finance both sides of the war on drugs and we're now financing both sides of the war on terror. This has got to stop.

I was also shocked by the $4 price tag for a dozen eggs. Those biofuels are working out real well.

Wouldn't it be great to turn on the TV and hear any U.S. President, democrat or republican give the following speech?

“My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of the Iraq regime has been completed. Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.
This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now time to begin the reckoning.
Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short . The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.
The other list contains every one not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.
Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war. Then every year there after it'll go to our social security system so it wont go broke in 20 years.
The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hellholes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.
Need help with a famine ? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France .
In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home . On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.
Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France or maybe China .
I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well.
I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York
A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change.
Mexico is also on List 2 its president and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra thousand FONT>tanks and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put 'em? Yep, border security.
Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty - starting now.
We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there.
It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, 'darn tootin.'
Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thank you guys. We owe you and we won't forget.
To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic.

anonymous: If only it was so simple. The US went into Iraq basically unilaterally on false information. Are you condemning those who were rational and knew better?

France is currently going after international piracy on the high seas. Great Britain is not.

Our thirst for "illegal" drugs have destabilized our neighbors. Should they me made to suffer for our "morality"? Our screwed up energy policies are part of the coming inflation. If you were trying to feed you family, would you put yourself in danger crossing into this country just to break your back doing the white man's burden?

I have a special place in my vision of hell to those who preach simple solutions to complex problems. Just remember, shutting the door from the world keeps this nation out. The American Century is over thanks to the boost it got from the current administration. They betrayed us all. The children of the insiders who prospered will still have to deal with the world they have spun off its axis.

Anonymous -- Are you kidding? Do you really think that the foreign aid budget comes anywhere near the cost of the Iraq war. I think we spend more on Head Start than we do on foreign aid. You drive your car off a cliff and I'm a jerk for not following you? That's patently rediculous.

Back to the top:
1)D, Enjoy your 60th year
2)While the Dems are busy trashing each other, McCain continues to distance himself from the Bush administration.
Hillary becomes more disliked by the day and thanks to Bill and Hill, the race is becoming racial.
Obama will never win over the old, blue collar, less educated and old white women. People say that 2008 is the Dems to lose...and they are moving in that direction, regardless of the Bush record.
I am anxiously awaiting my absentte ballot, so I can put the election to rest. unfortunately the NBA playoffs are over in June and Footbal doesnt start until September.
