Liar of the week
Mitt Romney quit the race today, selfless to the end, saying that continuing his battle with Mr McCain would weaken his party, increasing the chances of a Democrat victory which would mean a "surrender to terror".

Do we give the American people credit for spotting a 3 dollar bill?
As I mentioned to Hankster in an email, who did this guy beat for governor of MA? Bucky Dent? Bill Buckner?
What a horrible politician. Even the people in his own party couldn't stand him.
I think that the breathless observations that a protracted battle for the Democratic nomination only helps McCain is utter folly. The more of a contest the Democrats make of this, the more coverage it will get. McCain will be an afterthought until this is settled. Clinton and Obama need to simply avoid trashing each other to point where they've damaged each other beyond redemption.
Ah Birdman, ever the optimist. So it might be. What about a wag the dog move by the White House in escalating something on the security front before the election to get the electorate to switch from greed to fear mode?
Gail Collins piece on Mitt is precious. You might want to go to the bathroom before reading it...
As Gail Collins wrote " Worst of all, I’m going to have to get through the rest of the year without ever again referring to the fact that Romney once drove to Canada with the family dog, Seamus, strapped to the roof of the car. Somewhere in doggie heaven an Irish Setter is laughing".
