Somebody say something

This campaign has gotten dull, dull, dull. McCain and Obama are both playing the four-corner offence so as to give none. It comes naturally to Barack who can say “change” in 47 languages but can’t explain what that means in even one. The McCain “Straight Talk Express” has become the Rovemobile. Paris Hilton has a clearer energy policy than either of them.

Each is waiting for the other to commit the big screw-up, so even as people are deserting the Republican party in droves and swelling the ranks of Democrats, Obama can’t pull away because nobody knows what the guy believes in. And even though he’s a war hero running against a black man with a Muslim-sounding name, McCain can’t either, because he’s stopped saying what he believes. I hope it’s just the dog-day doldrums and things will pick up after the conventions, but this has been a really disappointing month.
New movie: This could be interesting: IOUSA.

I can't imagine what post labor day campaigning will be like. Not very enlightening would be my guess. The Democrats will spend most of their energy responding to Republican attacks and attempting to shackle McCain to George Bush (I wonder what time GWB will speak at the convention? Probably 2:00 on Labor Day). Republicans will spend their time attacking Obama while never ever revealing the fact that they are Republicans.

McCain has absolutely no talent for campaigning. In many ways he doesn't even appear to be running his own campaign but simply taking marching orders from somebody else. He's got to come across as a "happy warrior" or he's going to get crushed.

Obama needs to take control of his message and not be seen as simply reacting to other people's comments. Everything will come down to the debates just like in 1980. We'll see.

It is no surprise that once again our presidential election seems to be turning into mud slinging orgies and nobody really addresses the problems the country faces.

Is Barrack too popular? Does McCain really want his wife in a topless beauty contest? Who the hell cares. Well, a quick peek at Cindy's store bought chest probably isn't all bad.

I'm working with Democratic National Committee and it is nearly impossible to get a substantive position out of them to use in fundraising.

Yet any attack from McCain and my computer explodes from the emails generated on the Hill telling us what our rebuttal should be.

At least with guys getting killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, our Prez is going to sit at the feet of the country that holds our debt and cheer at the Olympics. We are in safe hands.
