Not so sweet Caroline (or Carolina) for Hillary

This was a tough weekend for Hillary*. Not only did 70% of women voting in the South Carolina primary vote for someone other than her, but this morning, Caroline Kennedy endorsed Senator Obama in the New York Times, saying:

“I have never had a president who inspired me the way people tell me that my father inspired them. But for the first time, I believe I have found the man who could be that president — not just for me, but for a new generation of Americans.”

This must be very worrisome for Mrs. Clinton, who can’t seem to get the traction she needs with women. Not only did she fail to persuade seven in ten women overall, she took only 40% of votes from white women.

*BTW, I mean no disrespect by commonly referring to her by her first name; her campaign does the same, I think, for the same reason I do: to avoid confusion with her husband.

Got to love an orphan

Have to love that Obama!

It is hard to understand the so-called “African American issue.” Is this really an issue? Who cares?

A much more significant issue is that he is an orphan. Remember Harry Potter? This may be an even better story. Born in Hawaii, lived in Indonesia. Inhaled too! (Billy didn’t – but he did give us the best bumper sticker says “Vote for Monica’s Boyfriends Wife” a classic, on both fronts. )

Regarding W, (a true pure blood Slytherin), and his team of Death Eaters, if you get a chance, check out “Takeover - The Return of the Imperial Presidency and the Subversion of American Democracy” by Charlie Savage. Chilling, (Like the air when the Death Eaters arrive).

I am now waiting for the Republican Federalists, (and their cohorts of Big Oil and the Military Industrial Complex), to present their theory, “a la Cold War,” that Obama is really an Al Qaeda “sleeper” ready to turn the country back to the people. Beware a government that has systemically stripped away civil liberties, ignored the courts, the congress, and ultimately the people to put us where we are today. (More on that later if anyone is interested). Moreover, beware the people that almost elected W the first time and reelected him the second time. They are still out there in the woodshed somewhere.

Anyway, when Obama is president, maybe the rest of the world, (the other 95% of the planet), may think that a country (government) that progresses from W ( Voldemort ) to Harry (aka Obama) can’t be as totally corrupt and morally bankrupt as it is today.

Dear Obama, be well, stay safe, and do not hire Blackwater as a private security detail. Our hopes ride with you.

I'm not sure whether Hillary's in trouble or not. I sure hope so. It looks more and more like McCain will be the Republican nominee and he'll crush Hillary Clinton in a general election. I really don't want to see another Republican president appointing judges for the next 4-8 years. That notion makes my skin crawl.
